Tobias Rehberger — Ui.Ja, 2026

In Ui.Ja, Tobias Rehberger staged a parcours of sculpture, light and language across Baden-Baden’s Kurgarten, colonnades and Trinkhalle.

Fifteen works moved between neon signs, illuminated sculptural forms, a monumental gate and a deliberately ambiguous clown fountain. Shifting between visual art, architecture, design and everyday advertising, the exhibition unsettled familiar signs and changed the way the city could be seen — particularly after dark.

Humour and spectacle opened onto questions of perception, social codes and the promises of contemporary life. Rather than confining the works to a single exhibition space, the project wove them into the rhythms and encounters of the public realm.
