Nevin Aladağ — Public Resonator, 2023

For Public Resonator, Nevin Aladağ transformed the Kurgarten and its surrounding architecture into an open, multisensory environment.

At its centre, a sculptural sound body combined musical instruments into an invitation to listen, interact and gather. Patterned steel Clouds, colourful hanging lights from the Colour Floating series and carpets in the Kurhaus portico expanded the intervention across the site.

Bringing together sound, ornament and shared public space, the project explored how artistic forms can create connections across different cultures and generations. It proposed the city not merely as a setting for sculpture, but as a living space for participation and exchange.

Curatorial programme: Johann Alexis von Haehling and Prof. Florian Matzner, with Thomas Köhler as a member of the selection advisory board
